When we spoke to Real Estate titan Steve Carroll at the end of last year, we discussed digital profiles and why getting your own “Digital Shop Window” right is so important.

With the start of the new year we thought it was the perfect time to revisit this subject so you can start 2025 as you mean to go on - standing out from the crowd and stopping clients in their tracks.
Our lives are filled with distractions, and we’re constantly bombarded with messaging - so how do we cut through?
Here are Steve’s top 3 tips to take your digital profile to the next level:
Create your own Netflix trailer. Your profile needs to be compelling and engaging to stop a potential customer in their tracks - pare it right back to your key selling points to make them want to find out more.
Reduce the white noise. For landlords, finding a Property Manager is stressful because they all look the same, sound the same, make the same claims etc… Steve calls this “white noise” e.g. “passionate about people”, “good negotiator”, “property enthusiast”... Reduce the white noise as much as you can and you’ve a much better chance of being noticed.
Get the basics right. Make sure that every platform your profile appears on is up to date - and that includes your profile photo. You might prefer to use a photo where you’re 10 years younger, but it doesn’t start the working relationship on the right foot if they don’t recognise you when you meet in person!
3 good real-life examples Steve uses:
A female agent in the UK selling property to females - “The Go To real estate agent who specialises in finding first investment properties for female investors” - says it all.
An accountant who finds whenever she tells people what she does their eyes glaze over. So she’s crafted the Netflix trailer “Experienced Accountant, works with CEOs to keep them out of jail”
A photography shop who digitises slides and negatives with the tagline “We rescue memories.”
Review your digital profile today and make sure you're giving yourself the best chance of being noticed this year!
